The Somme canal

The Somme river takes its source at Fonsomme in the Aisne, to flow into the Bay of Somme, at Saint-Valery-sur-Somme, after a course of more than 160 km. To the delight of carp anglers, the entire Somme canal and the Canal du Nord are open to night carp. However, the posts between the various locks are only accessible after long minutes of walking or with rare access by car.
Moreover, the borders are not always practicable because of the vegetation and the height difference between the water and the shore. These are all constraints for the fishermen of the edge which allows the Somme to benefit from a low fishing pressure in view of its extent.
Its wild borders do not fail to shelter beautiful mirror carp which have taken advantage of the many years to develop. Thanks to the carpboat, navigate along the Somme canal, pass the locks and stop at the most interesting stations to fish. Rest assured the passage of the locks is done thanks to the qualified lock keepers who will help you to cross. The width of the Somme does not allow the tips of the boat's rods to protrude in relation to the other boats sailing. The rental of the boat on this destination provides for the possibility of fishing only with 4 rods. If conditions allow, fishermen can add rods by installing a rod pod from the bank.
The starting point of the navigation and the return is from the town of Corbie.
Since the Somme is part of the public domain, tenants are advised to be in possession of a fishing license with the halieutic stamps adapted to local regulations.
